Scholarships

The FirstLight Community Foundation Scholarship Program is for graduating high school seniors in El Paso and Dona Ana County and FirstLight FCU Employee dependents. Successful candidates will be evaluated on a combination of extra-curricular activities, GPA, and video submission. Personality and creativity encouraged as you tell us what makes you, well, you!

Selection Criteria

Scholarships:

Graduating Seniors Scholarship

  • 🎓Be a graduate of the Class of 2024 in the El Paso, Fort Bliss, or Doña Ana Communities

  • 🏫Be an incoming college freshman at a two or four-year institution of higher learning or certified trade school

  • 📚GPA of 2.5 and higher

FirstLight Dependent Scholarship

  • 👪Must be a dependent of a full or part-time employee of FirstLight Federal Credit Union. Required to provide name of employee on application.

  • 🏫Be a current college student at a two or four-year institution of higher learning or certified trade school.

  • 📚GPA of 2.5 and higher

Ambassador Program:

Top applicants get an exclusive ticket to an in-person meeting at the FirstLight facility, opportunity to connect with credit union leaders, and diving deep into what makes FirstLight shine.

Program Highlights:

How to Prepare

    • ✏ Obtain Guidance Counselor Information (Phone, school email)
    • 🏅Be prepared to list school (club, sport), work, and community activities.
    • 🎬 Lights, camera, action! You will upload one (1) video (up to 300MB). Be sure you are in a well-lit area, where we can hear and see you. Creativity and energy encouraged.

    • NOTE: ONLY COMPLETED APPLICATIONS WITH VIDEO SUBMISSION WILL BE REVIEWED.
