A Legacy of Service, A Future of Opportunity
Our story began in 1955, when nine pioneers at Biggs Air Force Base came together with one vision — to give military and civilian personnel greater access to financial opportunity. That vision became Frontier Federal Credit Union, and through growth, collaboration, and a few name changes along the way, we’ve evolved into the institution now known as FirstLight Federal Credit Union.
As our community expanded, so did our mission. From merging with neighboring credit unions and opening new engagement centers across El Paso and Doña Ana County, to embracing new technologies and services, we’ve always focused on empowering members to take control of their financial journey.
Expanding Opportunity, One Member at a Time
In 2015, we took that commitment a step further by founding the FirstLight Community Foundation, dedicated to supporting education, financial literacy, and access to opportunity. Over the past decade, the Foundation has awarded more than $150,000 in scholarships, launched the ZOGO financial education app with thousands of daily users, and in 2025, introduced the Affordable Home Match Program, helping make homeownership more accessible in our community.
From our roots on a military base to becoming one of the region’s most trusted credit unions, FirstLight continues to shine a light on what matters most, helping our members, neighbors, and communities grow.
